5 out of 11 Abducted Villagers in Mathili Block return Home

In some little relief for the cops and district administration, five out of the eleven villagers abducted from Kartanpali village under Mathili block of Malkangiri district, have returned home unhurt. They were abducted by the Maoists a few days ago. DGP Sanjeev Marik informed the reporters about this.

Trinath Bhumia, former Chairman of Mathili Block, was one of the five people released by the red rebels. There is no report about the whereabouts of other people. The cops are trying their best to locate them. According to reports, they are safe, but have been kept in confinement.

According to a local newspaper, the Maoists will hold a ‘Kangaroo Court’ or ‘Praja Court’ to try the abducted people. If they are found innocent, they will be allowed to leave. However, if they are found to be police informers, they could be punished.
