Aadhaar Card not mandatory for Paddy Procurement in Odisha

Insight Bureau:  Odisha Government on Wednesday announced that Aadhaar card will not be made mandatory for paddy procurement in the state.

The food supplies and consumer welfare (FS&CW) department has written a letter to all collectors to speed up registration of farmers who have been left out due to non-availability of Aadhaar card.

Reportedly, the farmers can register with Primary Agricultural Credit Society and Large Sized Agricultural Multi-purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS) by using voter identity card, Kissan Credit Card or Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana (BKKY) Card for selling their paddy.
