Ace Weightlifter K Ravi Kumar appointed as DSP in Odisha Police

Ace Weightlifter and Arjun awardee K Ravi Kumar was on Thursday appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the State Police  by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Kumar is the first sportsperson to be appointed in Group ‘A’ category.

Katulu Ravi Kumar (born 24 April 1988) is an Indian weightlifter from Berhampur, Odisha. K. Ravi Kumar won many State, National, and International awards.

He won three gold medals in the 2009 Commonwealth Games at Penang in Malaysia and at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won a gold medal in the Men’s 69 kg (152 lb) weightlifting category.
