Acid attack survivor gets engaged on Valentine’s Day

ONI Bureau: As a symbol of true love, nine years after the tragic day when she was attacked with acid, Pramodini Roul (24) of Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district got engaged to her fiancé from Cuttack’s Saroj Kumar Sahu (26) in Lucknow on Wednesday on Valentine’s Day.

It is to be noted that on 2009, when a paramilitary jawan in Jagatsinghpur threw acid on her after she rejected his marriage proposal. Reportedly, she suffered 80% burn injuries and even lost her eyesight in the attack. She got 20% vision back after operation in July last year.
