After months of denial, Centre admits COVID Community Transmission in India

After remaining in denial for months, the Centre has admitted that India is under the ‘community transmission’ stage.

Union Health Minster Dr. Harsh Vardhan admitted that India is going through the community transmission phase, but it is limited to a number of districts.

The Health Minister admitted it while addressing his weekly social media program ‘ Sunday Samvaad.’

“Community transmission has been reported in different pockets of various states. It is not happening across the country,” he said.

Earlier West Bengal Mamata Banerjee had spoken about the instances of community transmission in her state. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also confirmed community transmission in July.
