Al Qaeda Terrorist Abdul Rehman arrested in Jagatpur, Cuttack

Maulana Abdul Rehman, the Al Qaeda terroristCuttack, Dec 16: Al Qaeda operative, Maulana Abdul Rehman (37) was arrested from Jagatpur in Cuttack Tuesday night. The arrest took place in a joint operation by Delhi Police and Commissionerate Police.

Rehman will be produced in Bhubaneswar court. The Delhi Police will take him in custody after getting the transit remand. Rehman is a permanent resident of Paschimkachha village in Jagatpur. He is now being questioned by the Delhi Police sleuths.

Rehman is a father of three children. He was allegedly involved in religious activities and trying to motivate the youth to engage them in jihadi activities. He was also running a madarsa with students from Odisha and Jharkhand.

Another suspected Al Qaeda terrorist Mohammed Asif (41)  was arrested by Delhi police from Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh. As per police officials, both arrested suspected terrorists were linked and both traveled to Tehran, Quetta (Balochistan) and other places.
