All Odisha Teachers Association’s Strike enters 3rd Day

Bhubaneswar, Aug 12: Around 4,000 grant schools in Odisha were locked and studies of around 5 lakh students of these schools were affected due to the strike called by All Odisha Teachers Association. The strike by the teachers body entered on third day on Wednesday. The teachers are on strike demanding regularlisation of  their salaries and implementation of 1994 grant policy.

The association of  block grant teachers demanded withdrawal of current grant policy and implementation of 1994 grant policy. The teachers urged the state government to provide grants to the eligible schools. They threaten to protest in front of Odisha Assembly during monsoon session if their demands are not met. However, the Odisha education minister assured to discuss with the teachers to end their stir.
