Allegations of Rs 800 Cr Electricity Dues are False: Baijayant Panda

ONI Bureau: Former BJD MP Baijayant Panda has responded to the allegations of pending electricity dues by ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) calling those false and baseless.

“I vehemently deny the false allegations made by Biju Yuva Vahini. When I was in BJD, the party already probed the allegations and found those untrue. But, they are repeated now to malign me in the election year. There is no truth in the charge that we have Rs 800 crore pending electricity dues,” Mr. Panda said.

“They are turning out to be ‘Biju Gunda Bahini’. It’s awful that Late Biju uncle’s name is being misused to attack political opponents. They also created ruckus today at Talcher and we are appalled at this Gundaism,” he said.

It can be recalled that former BJD MP Baijayant Panda was heckled by a group of alleged Biju Yuva Bahini members today in Talcher.They pretended to offer bouquet to him during a road show. When he stopped, they abused him and asked about the alleged non-payment of electricity dues of Rs 800 crore.

The locals present at the spot confronted them and challenged them to ask their own Govt to return Rs 5,000 crore chit fund scam money following which they retreated. Earlier on October 21, Dr. Damodar Rout was confronted on the same question by a youth on the stage, who later turned out to be a BJD worker.
