Anand Atma Baba of Salepur Arrested, Interrogated in Murder Case

Alok Bisoi alias Anand Atma Baba of Rameswar Hill Ashram at Sahapada in Salepur, who was arrested yesterday in connection with the gruesome murder of a youth, is being interrogated now.

During interrogation, Atma Baba admitted that he and his two nephews hacked the youth and tried to burn him alive using ghee while he was still injured.

Heavy police deployment has been made in and around the Ashram, which was ransacked and set on fire by the angry mob yesterday. The situation is said to be under control following the arrest of Anand Atma Baba.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar Patra from nearby Chahadpada village under Salepur block. He was murdered and set on fire. The police recovered his half-burnt body from the Ashram. A four-member scientific team has reached the Ashram to probe the matter.
