Athagarh Fire Mishap: 2 killed, 80 Houses gutted

A major fire that struck at Chainpura village in the Athgarh sub-division of Cuttack district on Wednesday, killed two people and gutted atleast 80 houses completely and properties worth lakhs of rupees.

Though the reason behind the fire have not yet conformed but it is believed that it could be due to natural fire by heat wave or short-circuit.

The fire tenders reached to the spot immediately and with the help of local people doused the fire. Later, the Cuttack Collector Nirmal Mishra visited the village.
