Bahuda Jatra 2015: Pahandi Bije, Chhera Pahanra Completed

Braving bad weather, showers and poor drainage system, thousands of devotees throng Puri to witness ‘Bahuda Jatra’ or ‘Return Journey’ of the deities. The ‘Pahandi Bije’ of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, Lord Balabhadra and Lord Sudarshan have been completed with full rituals.

Later, Puri Gajapati Dibya Singh Deb performed the ‘Chhera Pahanra’ of Chariots – Taladhwaja, Darpadalan and Nandighosh and sprinkled holy water with sandal and vermilion. Pulling of chariots will begin shortly. The deities should reach the Shrimandir by evening.
