Baijayant Panda Helicopter Row: Police to seek more clarification from DGCA

ONI Bureau:  Even as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given a clean chit to former BJD MP Baijayant Panda, saying he neither violated any flying rules nor landed in Chilika Lake as claimed by the police and ruling party, Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi told the media that they would seek further details from DGCA on altitude of flying.

The Puri SP said although the DGCA has given information on landing of helicopter and confirmed that it did not land in Chilika Lake, information on altitude of flying was missing in the report. So, the police will approach them again seeking further clarifications on this matter, he said.

He also revealed that process has begun to release the other two helicopters inside the sealed hangar following the IMFA letter that warned the police that they would be liable for any maintenance related issues if the two others not related to the case are not released immediately.
