Bail Plea of Madhu Mohanty & Durga Mishra Rejected

The special CBI Court has rejected the bail plea of Durga Prasad Mishra, former MD of Microfinance Ltd. in connection with the chit fund scam. Durga Mishra, also the owner of Mbc TV, has been sent to judicial custody till January 8. He is now lodged in Jharpada jail.

Although Durga Prasad Mishra sought bail on medical grounds and underwent medical check up at the Capital Hospital, the CBI lawyer opposed his bail, saying the agency was in process of probing the larger conspiracy and bail to the accused, may hamper the probe.

In another development, the Orissa High Court has rejected the bail plea of Madhu Mohanty, Editor of Odisha Bhaskar in connection with AT Group chit fund link. The bail hearing of builders Sagar Ray and Vineet Lalani till January 6 and 7.
