Baitarani flows above danger mark near Akhuapada in Bhadrak

ONI Bureau:  A flood-like situation has occurred at several Panchayats in Bhadrak district as Baitarani River crossed its danger mark near Akhuapada on Friday.

The river was flowing at 18.47 metres at Akhuapada as against the danger mark of 17.83 metres reportedly.

People of Dasarathapur and Korei blocks of the district, residing in low lying areas to be affected following a rise in water level of the river.

Collectors of four districts- Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Kendrapada alerted as water level of Baitarani river touches 37.16 meters at Rajghat. Several areas of Hatadihi and Ghasipura blocks in Keonjhar district have also been affected by the overflowing of Baitarani.
