Bandh hits normal life in Puri District

Normal life was affected at Puri District during a 24-hour bandh called by Puri District Phailin Action Committee today.

The committee members alleged that while the people of Khurdha and Ganjam district have already given houses till now the affected people of cyclone Phailin have not received any compensation in Puri.

Earlier, the State Government has assured to provide the houses at Rs 3.50 lakh to affected people residing within five kilometers from the coast.

Markets, shops, business establishments and educational institutions in the city were remain closed. Vehicular movements came to standstill and silent for the bandh.
