“Bate Ghate” Road Show in Sambalpur to promote Sambalpuri Art

SambalpurAround 400 artists of more than 25 cultural organizations on Sunday will perform together on the streets of Sambalpur to showcase the Sambalpuri art. The artists will perform from Head Post Office till the Nelson Mandela Chhak between 9 am to 1 pm.

The programme named as “Bate Ghate”, has been dedicated to Satyanarayana Bohidar, the doyen of Sambalpuri literature and grammar, whose birth anniversary will be celebrated on August 1, said the coordinator of the ‘Bate Ghate’ programme, Deepak Panda.

Sambalpuri dance, music, poetry recitation, street plays, paintings and photography exhibition will also be a part of the programme. While a fashion show will be organized to promote Sambalpuri sarees and dresses, Sambalpuri ‘Dhaga Dhamali’ (phrases) will be displayed on the road. The show will have stalls selling food items.
