Bharat Bandh: ECoR cancels 12 Trains, Odisha Assembly adjourned till tomorrow

ONI Bureau:  A Nation-wide shutdown called by Congress crippled normal life across Odisha today as vehicular movement came to a halt due to the bandh over fuel price rise.

While Buses, autos and cabs stayed off roads, East Coast Railway Zone has cancelled 12 trains including Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express and Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Inter City Express in the view of  Bharat Bandh today.

Similarly, Odisha Assembly adjourned till tomorrow following ruckus over fuel price hike and cooperative bank loans scam. Vice Chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) also cancelled exam scheduled for today. Congress activists along with OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik sit on dharna in front of main gate of Odisha Assembly reportedly.

Meantime, all educational establishments, shops and other business establishments have remained closed, today.

While Congress members’ damaged gate of Nabarangpur Collectorate as the office remains open despite the bandh call, they barged into Tehsil office in Kakatpur, Puri and violence reported from Remuna in Balesore.
