Bhasha Andolan, Day 4: Padma Shri Prafulla Kar joins Movement

The Bhasha Andolan in Odisha, which entered Day 4 on Saturday, received a major boost, as eminent Odia Singer and Musician Padma Shri Prafulla Kar joined he movement and took part in ‘silent black flag march’ from Odisha Assembly to Madhu Babu’s statue near Governor’s House.

Apart from Prafulla Kar, Entrepreneur Subrat Chhatoi, leading activist and intellectual Malay Tripathi, young talent Rakesh Jena etc. took part in the protest march. Senior journalist Bibekananda Das coordinated with them.

Other torch bearers of this movement, Subhas Chandra Pattanayak, Pradyumna Satpathy, Pabitra Mohan Maharatha, Kali Prasad Samantray and some others gathered near Madhu Babu’s statue and vowed to continue their fight for this cause.

The activists have sough the strict implementation of 1954 Language Act, ensuring governance of Odisha in Odia and inclusion of penal clauses for the violators.
