Bhitarkanika National Park in Odisha reopens for Tourists

bhitarkanika-tourism-avijit-saha-2Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district has been reopened for the tourists from today after a break of three months in view of the crocodile breeding season.

The Park was closed for three months on May 1. The prohibitory order was imposed as the crocodiles generally turn violent during the mating period.

Hence, considering the safety of the tourists, the Forest department had closed the park till July 31. District Forest Officer of Rajnagar Wildlife Division, Bimal Prasanna Acharya has confirmed that restriction on the tourists has been lifted.
