Bhubaneswar bags 2nd runners up in Smart Cities Contest at SCEWC, Barcelona

Bhubaneswar has bagged 2nd runners up in the World Smart City Expo Awards 2016 organised by the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) at Barcelona in Spain.

Around 250 cities of 45 countries had participated in the Smart City contest this year. From which 6 countries went to the final round.

Kenya’s capital Nairobi was awarded the winner in the category. Meantime, two cities from India Bhubaneswar and Chennai were the finalists.

Earlier, Bhubaneswar had submitted its proposal to the evaluating committee of the SCEWC. The ranking was based on the submitted various developmental projects in cities.
