Bhubaneswar crosses 1 lakh mark in COVID-19 testing

Tests for COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar has crossed one lakh mark, authorities at the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation have informed.

A total of 2,812 tests were done on Thursday while 2,642 tests were conducted the day before. The city has so far conducted 1, 04, 390 tests in both the Government and private facilities.

Out of this while the Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests count for 52,205, while the Rapid Antigen Tests count for 21,445. A total of 353 TrueNAT tests have been conducted.

There are 16 health care centres in the city which conducts Rapid Antigen Test. The testing is available from 8 am to 2 pm at these centres.

The mobile testing van has also contributed in the testing numbers.

Meanwhile, Odisha has emerged second among other states in the country by conducting 1,265 tests per million per day. Goa stands at the top of the chart with 1,826 cases. The national average is 580 tests per day per million.
