Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi’s Office Sealed For Alleged Violation of COVID-19 Norms

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation sealed MP and BJP national spokesperson Aparajita Sarangi’s office for 15 days for allegedly violating covid-19 guidelines.

In a video which had gone viral on social media, the Bhubaneswar MP could be seen celebrating her birthday with her supporters without wearing masks and following social distancing.

On Friday State Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra had written to the Centre seeking its intervention into the matter. In his letter, Mishra had cited that Aparajita Sarangi was a repeat offender.

In her defence, Aparajita Sarangi accused the BJD of its double standards. She said that the BJD had not taken any action against Minister Samir Das and Legislator Uma Samantarai,who attended cremation of late Pradeep Maharathy in Puri, despite testing positive for COVID-19.
