Bijepur Bypoll: EC orders transfer of Bargarh SP

ONI Bureau: Acting on the complaint lodged by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Election Commission has ordered transfer of Bargarh SP Jugal Kishor Banoth to ensure free and fair polling in Bijepur Bypoll.

BJP had alleged before the EC that Bargarh SP is acting as a BJD agent and taking instructions from the 3rd Floor. The State Electoral Officer (SEC) has conveyed the EC’s decision to the state government.

The Home Department of Odisha has started the process by writing to the DGP to shortlist 3 IPS officers. One of them would be appointed as Bargarh SP before the bypoll.
