Bijepur Bypoll: Raman Singh not in BJP’s Star Campaigners List

ONI Bureau: Contrary to what BJP leaders claimed earlier, Chhattisgarh CM Dr. Raman Singh is not in the list of star campaigners for Bijepur Bypoll. The list includes BJP President Amit Shah, but it’s not clear whether he would campaign or not.

Actress Anu Choudhury, who brought embarrassment to the party by addressing Dharmendra Pradhan as the Chief Minister, is not in the list of star campaigners. BJP has drawn flak for inviting Raman Singh to campaign in Bijepur, as he is facing criticism over ongoing Mahanadi river water dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, Radha Mohan Singh, Smriti Irani, Giriraj Singh, Babul Supriyo will also visit Bijepur to campaign for BJP candidate Ashok Panigrahi.

Among the national leders, Ram Lal, Arun Singh, Soudan Singh, Sambit Patra have been listed as the Star Campaigners. In addition, Basant Panda, KV Singhdeo, Suresh Pujari, Jaya Narayan Mishra, Surama Padhi, Pradeep Purohit, Pravati Parida, Rabi Narayan Nayak, Lekhashree Samantsinghar, Biswabhusan Harichandan, Giridhar Gamang, Pratap Sarangi, Samir Mohanty, Bhrugu Baxipatra, Tankadhar Tripathy, Subash Chauhan, Sritam Das, Pinky Pradhan and Mihir Das have been included in the list.

Bypolls in Bijepur would be held on February 24. Counting will be held on February 28.
