Biju Janata Dal wins 13 out of 15 Wards in Ranpur NAC

The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) continued its winning streak by winning 13 out of 15 wards in Ranpur NAC in Nayagarh district. The Congress Party won just one seat, while one Independent candidate also won. BJP failed to open its account.

In total, 55 candidates had contested the polls. Election for the Chairperson will be held on May 18.

Polls to Ranpur NAC was earlier scheduled to be held on April 7, but had to be postponed following Nayagarh DM’s report that reservation status of wards has been wrongly published by the Election Officer.
