BJD has become a Social Movement in 20 Years: Naveen Patnaik

ONI Bureau: While speaking at the 20th anniversary event of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Puri, CM Naveen Patnaik quoted Dr, APJ Abdul Kalam to invoke ‘Simple Living, High Thinking’ concept and asked the party leaders and cadres to keep doing their best to win the love and affection of people.

‘Maa, Mati aau Swabhimaan’ was the focus at Naveen’s speech. The BJD supremo said BJD is not just a political party, as it was created in 1997 with a special focus to serve the people of the state. “It has become a social movement in 20 years,” he said, while hailing his father Biju Patnaik’s contributions to build modern Odisha. He also remembered Legends of Odisha such as Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das and Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das.

“People’s love made Gandhi Ji immortal. And, it’s not easy to win people’s trust and love. If we keep doing that, it would be our great achievement. How we would do it, depends on our leaders and workers. I feel happy when I hear about the good work of our MPs, MLAs and Sarpanches”, he added.

“We should be grateful to people of Odisha always. It’s their love and affection, which helped us grow and reach here where we stand today. And, it should be our motto not to let them down and fulfil all their aspirations,” added CM Naveen Patnaik.

“I have been serving the people since I became the Aska MP in 1997. There is no looking back. And, I will continue to make all efforts to make Odisha No. 1 and the Best State in the country. I need your support and efforts to achieve the goal, he told the BJD leaders and workers. In his brief speech, Naveen did not hit out at the opposition and his critics and maintained decency and decorum.
