BJD demands to declare Lightning as National Disaster in Lok Sabha

In the Lok Sabha, BJD MP Rabindra Kumar Jena on Wednesday raised the death issues caused by lightning across Odisha.

Jena has demanded that the lightning should be announced as a National Disaster and Rs 10 lakh should be paid to the victims of lightning as compensation.

He also stated that more than 600 people have died in the state due to lightning in the past 16 months.
