BJD hits back at Odisha BJP over Mahanadi Row

While BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma accused the ruling BJD of unleashing terror in the name of Mahanadi and asked Naveen Patnaik to clarify what he is doing for the state, BJD hit back, saying Chhattisgarh CM Dr. Raman Singh tried to create more confusion.

BJD lashed out at Odisha BJP for inviting Raman Singh to campaign in Odisha during the panchayat polls and accused the party of trying to compromise with state’s interest by colluding with the Chhattisgarh CM.

“There is little doubt that Chhattisgarh Government is illegally building barrages on Mahanadi river, which would create more problems for Odisha. Mahanadi is the lifeline of crores of Odias. Such action won’t be tolerated by the people”, BJD said.

Terming the Jal Satyagraha in Mahanadi River at Cuttack and Sambalpur a huge success, BJD predicted doomsday for BJP in the state, saying they did a historic blunder by reposing blind trust in Raman Singh, who just acted as per some vested interests. People of Odisha will never forgive BJP for this sin, the party claimed.
