BJD moves SEC against Poll Code violation by BJP

state-election-commissionerAlleging violation of model code of conduct by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Panchayat Polls, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday sought the intervention of the State Election Commissioner (SEC) in the matter.

Ruling BJD alleged that BJP is violating the rules by advertising several schemes on local television channels.

Reacting on the allegation, BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty said the advertisements are done by Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) as DAVP is the nodal agency of the Government of India for advertising on behalf of various Ministries so BJD need to ask DAVP in this matter.
