BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik announces 4 Rajya Sabha nomination

Four of 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha will fall vacant in the next month. To occupy those posts Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the names of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidates for the elections to four Rajya Sabha seats. The BJD supremo nominated- Subhas Singh, Munna Khan, Sujit Kumar and Mamata Mahanta for the Rajya Sabha polls.

The four seats set to fall vacant are due to the completion of tenure of three BJD politicians — Anubhav Mohanty, Narendra Kumar Swain and Sarojini Hembram — and Congress member Ranjib Biswal on April 2.

The Upper house polls are set to be held on March 26.
