BJP launches ‘Ganatantra Bachao’ Padayatra in Bijepur

ONI Bureau: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched ‘Ganatantra Bachao’ or ‘Save Democracy’ padayatra in Bijepur to protest against the firing incident at its worker Manoranjan Meher’s residence a few days ago.

Although two people were arrested in connection with the incident and the Bargarh Police denied any “political links”, the BJP kept alleging that it was done at the behest of BJD.

The two-day padayatra was launched by BJP’s State Unit President Basant Panda, Leader of BJP in Odisha Assembly KV Singhdeo and others in Pada village where the firing incident took place. BJP vowed to fight against “BJD Goondaraj”. It can be recalled that bypolls would be held in Bijepur assembly segment soon.
