BJP MLA ends Fast; DM assures to declare Jharsuguda as Drought-hit

Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: Brajrajnagar BJP MLA Radharani Panda called off hunger strike after district administration assured to declare Jharsuguda as drought-hit on Friday. She was on fast-unto-death stir in front of District Collectorate office demanding the administration to declare Jharsuguda district as drought-hit.

Rajendra Mishra, Additional District Magistrate met the BJP MLA and assured to declare the district as drought hit. He handed over a letter of assurance issued by the district collector and appealed to end her fast-unto-death stir by taking fruit juice.

After getting assurance from the district administration, the MLA ended her stir. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and BJP Leader Basanta Panda were present on the occasion.
