BJP slams Odisha CM for ‘No Security’ to Dharmendra Pradhan in Malkangiri

BJP on Tuesday claimed that the ruling BJD Government had not provided security to the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during his visit to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) affected Malkangiri district on Monday.

Earlier on Mondy, the district police refused to provide security to the Union Minister.  Neither a single district level officer was seen present and cooperating with Pradhan.

Later, the party leaders visited villages wearing bullet-proof jackets accompanied by Border Security Force (BSF) officials.

It is to be noted that, defying state government’s advice not to tour Maoists affected Malkangiri district, his proposed visit on November 4 was canceled on the same ground.

Party State President Basanta Panda told to media persons that the State Government had assured us to provide security but the Malkangiri SP refused to give security to the Union Minister.

Expressing his upset over the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Pradhan said he would take up the matter with the home ministry.
