BJP slams Odisha Govt over rehabilitation work in Cyclone-affected Districts

ONI Bureau:  Odisha unit of BJP accused the BJD Government of failing to provide compensation and rehabilitation to the cyclone and flood victims.

A five member team of BJP on Tuesday visited several places in both Ganjam and Gajapati districts.

The BJP delegation including MLA Rabi Naik, Pradeep Purohit, Lekhashree Samantsinghar, Golak Mohapatra and Thakur Ranjit Dash reviewed relief work undertaken by the state government and met the people to assess damages due to Cyclone Titli and subsequent floods.

After reviewing the situation, the delegation claimed that Cyclone Titli affected people and the victims have still not received compensation for reconstruction of their damaged houses even after 45 days since the Cyclone wreaked havoc in the region.

Roads are damaged and Houses are destroyed. With the advent of winter, people don’t have houses to stay in nor electricity or drinking water. State Govt had announced restoration within 24 hrs, which has not reached after 45 days, said the BJP delegation.
