Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President and Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur arrived in Bhubaneswar this morning on a special visit. Thakur’s sudden visit has raised eyebrows in the political circle, especially shortly after the PM’s Odisha visit and amid increased tension between BJP and ruling BJD.
Since January 2016, at least 7 Union Ministers have visited Odisha so far. BJP has shifted its focus to the Eastern belt and the party is keen to expand its base in West Bengal and Odisha apart from putting all efforts in the upcoming Assam assembly polls.
According to some sources, Anurag Thakur may review BJP Youth Morcha’s preparedness in Odisha and discuss the appointment of a new state unit President.
