Bloodbath begins at Sulia Jatra in Bolangir Dist

ONI Bureau:  The bloodbath once again began at annual Sulia Jatra in Bolangir district today.

Like every year, hundreds of birds and animals like hens, pigeons, goats, sheep and buffalos are sacrificed at the Sulia Pitha at Khairaguda under Deogaon block in the district.

Tribal people including non-tribals too offer animals after their “wishes” are fulfilled.

Every year the festival is observed in the village of khairguda in balangir district in western odisha on second Tuesday of Pausha month as per Hindu calendar.
