BMC gears up to celebrate Local self-governance Day
On the occasion, it is decided to organize a civilian parade consisting around 1,500 people to showcase the achievements of the BMC and make people aware of the responsibility of the civic body,” said Bhubaneswar mayor Anant Narayan Jena.
School and college students, scouts and guides, NCC cadets and police band will take part in the rally, which is scheduled to start from the BMC office. Five cultural troupes are also expected to take part in the march.
The BMC will inaugurate a host of projects for the city and lay foundation stones of new ones to mark the occasion. New community centres, water ATMs and drinking water scheme would be inaugurated on that day.
