BMC opens first public toilet for Transgender Community in Odisha

ONI Bureau:  In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been constructed first public toilet for the transgenders near Vani Vihar square.

The Culture & Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda on Thursday inaugurated the hybrid toilet complexes with 10-seats, having one seat reserved for the third gender community.

This is the first such facility developed in Odisha for transgenders. It can be mentioned here that Odisha is the now the fifth state in India to have toilets for the transgender.
