Bomikhal Flyover Mishap: Panda Infra Projects owner arrested

ONI Bureau:  The Commissionerate Police on Friday arrested Panda Infra Projects owner Pratap Panda in connection with the Bomikhal overbridge collapse for a second time that killed a labourer and left another critically injured on Thursday night.

Panda was arrested on same charges in September last year when a portion of the same bridge caved in, killing a businessman and injuring many including his five-year-old daughter.

Expressing deep grief on death of the labourer, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of the kin of the deceased and said that the medical expenses of the injured will be borne entirely by the state Government.
