Breach in Odisha’s Indravati Dam; 100 acres of agricultural land submerged

Nearly 100 acres of agricultural land in Paraja Nagafeni area of Jayapatna block in Odisha’s Kalahandi district was submerged due to a breach created in Indravati dam.

The artificial flood has damaged total crops in the fields. The incident came as a jolt for the farmers of the submerged crop fields.

Indravati dam authorities rushed to the spot to identify the reason behind the situation. Kalahandi Collector said that they have formed a technical team to probe the incident and will be taken immediate action according to the report.

Local people have blamed that the poor quality maintenance work of canal is the reason behind the breach.
