British National Running Shelter Home Arrested On Charges Of Sexual Harassment

Acting on a complaint lodged by a minor tribal boy, Jharsuguda police arrested a British man on charges of sexual harassment. The 68-year old was running a shelter home – Faith Outreach in Jharsuguda district.  

The victim had alleged that the accused John Patrick Bridge sexually harassed him when they had gone to Bridge’s native place in Rayagada district for Christmas last year.

“After a complaint was filed at Jharsuguda police station under section 341 of the IPC (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 10 POCSO Act (aggravated sexual assault ) and section 3(i) (r), 2 (va) of SC/ST (POA) Act, the accused was arrested”

An FIR had already been registered against Bridge after the Indian Embassy in New Zealand started an inquiry following allegations of misuse of funds. The sexual harassment charges against him were leveled while investigations on funding was on.
