Budget Session of Odisha Assembly begins; Congress boycotts Governor’s Address
ONI Bureau: The Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly has begun with Governor Dr SC Jamir’s address on the last day of his tenure today. Governor SC Jamir received Guard of Honour on the premises of Odisha Assembly.
Soon after the Governor started his speech over farmer issues, Congress MLAs led by Narasingha Mishra staged walkout.
The members of House observed silence to pay homage to the departed leaders and martyrs.
Giving his speech the Governor said, “The State Govt has formed Special Development Councils in 9 tribal-dominated districts for benefits of tribals”.
The Union Government has already constituted a tribunal under ISRWDA-1956 to resolve the water sharing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh. People of Odisha relieved after formation of Mahanadi tribunal,” said the Governor.
