Buses in Odisha to have Ice Pack, ORS to counter heatwave

ONI Bureau:  Following increase in temperatures across the State, the Odisha Government on Friday directed the officials to make arrangements for passengers to deal with the heatwave condition.

The Commerce and Transport department issued a notification to the Transport Commissioner, Odisha State Road Transport Corporation, all the collectors and RTO officials to make arrangements to keep water, ice pack and ORS in the buses to counter the heat wave situation during summer this year.

The officials have been asked to run less number of buses between 11.00 AM and 3.00 PM during the summer.

The officials were also have asked to open bus watershed at each bus stand, bus stop and various locations on National and State Highways and create awareness among people through the voluntary organisations.
