Cases of Corona Virus rise in Odisha and India

Odisha has reported the second confirmed case of the novel coronavirus. The person with the virus had recently returned from a COVID-19-affected country. The state surveillance unit has started tracing the contacts, according to the department.

The Health and Family Welfare Department tweeted, “Today 14 samples were tested at RMRC (Regional Medical Research Centre) Bhubaneswar out of which one is positive for COVID 19”. This is the second positive case in Odisha. So far, 7 people have died across India because of the COVID-19 infection. The total number of confirmed cases of COVID 19, reported so far in India is 350 with a recovery rate of 7%.

A major number of cases in India:

  1. Delhi has reported 17 positive cases which include one foreigner.
  2. Uttar Pradesh has recorded 19 cases, including one foreigner.
  3. Maharashtra has 47 cases, including three foreigners.
  4. Kerala has recorded 28 cases which include two foreign nationals.
