CCTV, GPS made Mandatory in Over 15,000 Buses in Odisha

Odisha-Bus-CCTVIn a big development, the Odisha Government has made CCTV cameras and GPS system mandatory in all buses plying in the state. the Transport Department issued a notification in this regard, saying route permits won’t be issued to the buses without CCTV and GPS.

Odisha Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi expressed confidence that this move will enhance security for the passengers travelling in buses. The night passengers and women commuters will be benefited the most.

As per the estimates, over 15,000 private buses and 426 government buses are plying in Odisha. The new rules will be applicable to all of these.
