CDA has no restrictions on flying over Chilika Lake: Susanta Nanda

ONI Bureau:  A day after the Odisha Police seized helicopter of former BJD MP Baijayant Jay Panda for allegedly flying over the Chilika lake, which is a no-flying zone, the Chilika Development Authority Chief Executive Susanta Nanda today said “CDA has no restrictions for flying over Chilika. However, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will be able to clearly mention on such restrictions, if any.”

Speaking about CM Naveen Patnaik’s Chopper that was flying over Chilika Lake last year, Nanda said, “The incident happened a year ago, when I wasn’t here. Now, the matter will be reviewed”.

Panda, on his part, claimed that the chopper was flying high and he had no intention of landing on Chilika. “Seizure” of helicopter may slow me, but can’t stop me from reaching people’, panda tweeted.

Worth mentioning, Jay Panda visited Narada village of Kendrapada, met parents of 2 little children, a boy of 3 & a girl of 4 years old, who drowned in the village pond while playing.
