Central Congress Team to visit Kandhamal today

A five-member team of All India Congress Committee (AICC) set up by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi will visit the Gumudumaha village in Kandhamal district today to find the facts of shocking death of five innocent villagers and an infant, who were killed during the crossfire between Maoists and the security forces on July 8.

Former Union Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo, Jairam Ramesh, K H Muniyappa, Vincent Pala and Arun Oraon are the team members of the Committee will try to make sure of the circumstances that led to the killing of the villagers. They will also meet the family members and relatives of the victims in Gumudumaha village.

The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Prasad Harichandan and Odisha in-charge Subhankar Sarkar and other party leaders will assist the five-member team.
