Central Team to visit Jaundice-hit Sambalpur Today

Thanks to the intervention of Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP’s National Spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has directed a central team to visit Sambalpur and monitor and review the jaundice outbreak in the region.

Both Mr. Pradhan and Dr. Patra had requested Mr. Nadda to intervene in this matter and ensure prevention of the disease as well as provide full assistance to curb the menace. Jaundice has already claimed 17 lives in Sambalpur, while over 1,500 people have been affected so far.

The centra team will comprise of specialist doctors, who will be on a fact-finding mission and then give their report to the Health Minister. They will meet the patients as well as senior officials in the district to get the latest update and status on jaundice outbreak.
