Centre approves Khordha-Manguli Bypass

The centre has given green signal to the proposal of Odisha government to build a ring road between Khordha and Manguli covering Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The 64-km road will be a four-lane project, which would start at Khordha and end at Manguli Square.

The proposed road would serve as a bypass, connecting Athgarh, Banki, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khordha. The government estimates say that around Rs 800-900 crore would be spend on the new bypass that would make travel smooth and easier for the people.

The Khordha-Manguli bypass will be constructed on a Private Public Partnership. It is expected to reduce the traffic congestion between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and absorb the load of heavy vehicles plying on the route.
