Centre approves Rs 1,023.59 Cr Titli Cyclone assistance to Odisha

ONI Bureau:  The Centre on Monday approved additional assistance of Rs 1023.59 crore to Odisha for undertaking the repair and restoration work in 17 districts affected by cyclone ‘Titli’.

The High Level Committee chaired by the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh approved the additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) of Rs 1023.59 crore to Odisha and Rs. 268.63 crore to Tripura.

Expressing his happiness, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan thanked the Home Minister for early release of cyclone Titli assistance.

Earlier, Dharmendra Pradhan had spoken to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh & Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, requesting them to expedite consideration of additional assistance to Odisha from NDRF to meet with the need of Cyclone Titli affected people.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also a telephonic conversation with the Union Home Minister regarding immediate release of financial assistance.
